Hospitality Team Leader

About this Role

The Hospitality Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily functions and activities of the Hospitality department, who welcome each new Crew member and guest, prepare their cabins, prepare refreshments, and assist with special events.

What You Will Contribute

• Ensure that adequate supplies are available for cleaning, baking, guest cabins, etc.

Develop and oversee the duty hospitality schedule.

Organize and assign daily work duties for hospitality team.

Train new hospitality staff on daily duties.

Monitor inventory and order supplies.

Set up and serve on board functions—includes weekly departmental meetings to special events such as in-port arrivals and Heads of State visits.

Other duties as assigned.

• Prior work experience within the hospitality industry is required. 

• Certificate in food handling and safety standards through ServSafe is required before service. 

• Understand and apply servant leadership, work collaboratively with integrity and demonstrate accountability.

• Able to live in and contribute to community life, requiring stable and healthy interpersonal skills.

• Ability to multitask and work well within a team dynamic. 

• Able to lift 30 lbs./14 kg. regularly and have endurance for physical labor activities including bending, kneeling, and walking up and down stairs.

• Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

• Comfortable with speaking to groups, giving clear and precise information.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle issues with tact and professionalism. 

• Must be highly detailed and work well under pressure.

• Must have administrative skills – proficiency with Office 365 remotly and Office 2021 on Board (specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word) is required.

• Flexible and positive attitude. 

• Must be willing to fill in if scheduled duty hostess becomes unavailable.
